Obviously inspired by Guitar hero, this keyboard based flash game for tenacious d is really fun (and really hard). It’s certainly no mexican pushover.

gears of war

Finished Gears Of War on Hardcore last night. The end battle way waay hard, i spend a few sessions over about 3 days trying to defeat the end dude, to no avail. I ended up starting a co-op game and someone jumped in and gave me a hand, as the AI version of Dom just went all Kamakazi on me. Co-op is really where this game shines.

Now onto INSANE mode! I’m not sick of it yet, and i’m still pretty much a Vs multiplayer virgin. So much to do, so little time.

movember 2006

I was avoiding Movember this year as i have been healing after the big stack. But i healed up pretty quickly and am now sporting a moustache.

a) Partly to support mens health
b) Mainly to get free burgers!!!

an awesome deal
Grill’d, an awesome burger shop down the road from my work, possibly providers of some of the best burgers that i have ever eaten, are offerring a Movember deal that is too good to shy away from. Grill’d are offering any 1 burger from their menu for free for every day of November for customers supporting a moustache. All you need to do is head into a Grill’d establishment, fill out a short form where you give away a few vitals and then bam, you get your Grill’d Movember card describing your mo and a days of the month to tick off upon redeeming your deliciousness. So awesome, so generous, almost unbelievable . . . . . at least it was until the big backflip!

grill'dthe big backflip
Upon shaving down and heading in on Monday, i was greeted with a sign stuck up over the poster promoting the deal that is stuck on the store window. I described the NEW details of the Movember deal. It seems they didn’t think that many people would show up for the offer of free food. It seems they were wrong. The previous friday held an amazing moment, i strolled down the road past the burger toting establishment only to look around and find myself surrounded by almost exclusively moustache wielding burger fans, chowing down on their favourite Grill’d burger. It was pretty funny, and it made me appreciate how generous they were being for a good cause.

Now the free burger deal can only be redeemed between 3pm-6pm and also 8.30pm-10pm. Sure its still pretty generous that they’re giving away free burgers, but it’s not really appropriate for my lunchtimes anymore. If they had established these terms from the get go, then i would still think they are brilliant, but after the backflip, i just feel like i need to do my bit for the league of hairy top lipped gentlemen and have 2 lunches a day. 1 at 1pm (or “lunchtime”) and another before home time, just prior to cutoff, at 5.59pm.

Actually, considerring that, i’d better get going. It’s time for my 5th free burger in as many days. And damn they’re tasty. I recommend a “Simon Says”, you can’t beat a good advocado/chicken/bacon combo.

gears of wari’ve just picked up my collectors edition of gears of war 3 whole days before emergence day.

To coin an old and not-so-oft-used phrase i’m “eating so much shit” over it.

I’m eating that much shit that i’ve actually just emerged all over my new pants, but it’s all warm and nice and iwant to do it again.
