Australia Day, a national day dedicated to all things australian. In true city-style a BBQ was put on to celebrate this great day, whilst some were elsewhere, some were working (shame), we were at Hutchy’s place taking part in the Barkly Street Australia Day Festivale. There was a live band, a DJ, not 1 but 2 swimming pools, plus plenty of meet, beer and cricket. Whilst the cricket wasn’t essentially ‘official’ training, we all got a good work-out and i would imagine over the course of the whole day, probably dropped out % body fat by a couple of points. Because whilst it’s all good and well to have fun, what we were really concerned about was the season ahead.

a brief photo tour…

The first training of the year and time to start to work off that Christmas belly. Met the new coach, met the new boys, the numbers are pretty thin, but i suppose that is to be expected as people start to filter back in. Pre-Season is always a bit thin on numbers as the boys try to stay away until all the hard running is done and it’s onto the match preparation and ball-work (not that sort of ball-work). Me, i look forward to pre-season, as the sun is out and i’m usually feeling like a bit of a fat pig on a spit after all the christmas food and drink has consumed me for the past few months.

That first kick off a footy on your first pre-season training is always a dirty one too, i haven’t kicked a footy since winning the granny last year (bung knee), and my kicking is always worth a laugh at the best of times, let alone after an off-season without even so much of a kick.

Here’s to a successful year back in divvy one. Lets hope my knee holds out.

So I started blogging here using Blogger, just to check it out.

Then Blogger stopped posting to sammi.com.au, for some unknown reason.

So i switched over to mole4cars.com and it started working again.

Then Blogger started to worry me that i wasn’t in control of my data.

So i migrated my blog to use Word Press 2.0

And then i figured i’d be able to bring it back home to sammi.com.au seeing as Blogger wasn’t involved anymore.

I’m much happier now, but any links and bookmarks that people had whilst i was at mole4cars.com will be fucked up. I suppose i’ll just have to deal with that.

. . . I feel weird in the stomach.

on second thoughts, i seem to be getting a 250kb/sec download from ign at the moment, so maybe the speed isn’t too bad after all - Go Telstra, i’m gonna make them earn that $10!
